ATTA Chooses Finland for AdventureWeek 2024

In September, the Adventure Travel World Summit in Japan featured Adventure Apes alongside Visit Finland, Ruka-Kuusamo, and Visit Oulu, celebrating how sustainable adventure tourism can be done right. The crowd erupted in applause when Finland was unveiled as the host country for ATTA’s summer 2024 AdventureWeek.
As Finland’s representatives, we emphasized not just trails and landscapes, but also traditions like sauna culture and reindeer herding, which surprised and delighted international delegates.
Visitors showed real interest in the “darkness tourism” idea — experiencing the true darkness of Finland’s northern nights — highlighting untapped potential for new product development.
