Adventure Apes founder Heidi Savolainen delivers keynote on inclusive, community-based travel activities at Visit Espoo event on May 14, 2025.
Adventure Apes founder and project lead Heidi Savolainen gave a keynote speech at the Untapped Potential of Inclusive Tourism (Inklusiivisen matkailun hyödyntämätön potentiaali) at Sokos Hotel Tripla. The event brought together tourism professionals, developers, and decision-makers to explore how travel can become more inclusive, accessible, and sustainable.
Savolainen’s keynote focused on Community Based Travel Activity (CBTA) — a model that emphasizes co-creation with local communities and the development of travel experiences rooted in place, culture, and participation. She shared practical examples of how small tourism operators can build meaningful, year-round offerings that support both local identity and long-term resilience.
The keynote was visually documented by an illustrator from Tussitaikurit, who captured the key messages and atmosphere in real time, adding a creative layer to the discussions.
Adventure Apes’ participation reflects its broader mission: to develop digital, community-driven tourism products that serve both travelers and local communities — especially in rural areas and outside the peak season.
