We have paid attention to accessibility while renovating the Adventure Apes Lodge. The main building is one story, there are no stairs to the lobby, dining room, guest rooms, gear drying room or sports hall. There are some low thresholds but according to our experience they are manageable with a wheelchair. The sauna is also located in the main building, but the entrance is outdoors and unfortunately there are two steps to enter. We have plans to build a wheelchair accessible ramp in the future.
One of the rooms has a big wheelchair accessible bathroom with two 1-metre wide doors; one door goes directly to the room and the other one opens up to the lobby. This makes it easy to make it a shared bathroom for other users if needed. There is a toilet with grab rails, roll in shower with two shower heads, movable shower chair and a large lowered sink.
